The Location

Carantec

The beaches and centre of Carantec are just a few minutes walk from the house.

Carantec is a delightful little town in a peaceful area of Brittany with many secluded bays and sheltered sandy beaches.

It also has all the amenities you could wish for including a church, town hall, bars, excellent restaurants, boulangerie, patisserie, chocalaterie, florist, local shops, estate agents, banks, paper shop and e
ven a small cinema and museum.

There is a supermarket within walking distance and on Thursday mornings there is a wonderful market in town with lots of fresh local produce for you to enjoy as well as many fascinating and unusual stalls.

There are two tennis clubs with indoor and outdoor courts and aerobics, step and yoga classes are also available.

For the kids, only a 5 minute drive / 20 minutes walk there is a superb water park with pools and slides.

For golfers there is a 9-hole golf course with a small chateau as a clubhouse overlooking the bay of Morlaix.

Plage du Kelenn

At the Plage de Kelenn there is a sailing school, a diving school and 3 restaurants with sea views. At the old port there are more sandy beaches; also two restaurants with stunning views across the bay to the historic town of Saint Pol de Leon.

Isle de Callot

Isle de Callot is an island North of Carantec which is accessible by road at low tide.

Morlaix

Morlaix is certainly worth visiting with its pretty setting along a river estuary, yacht harbour and its old, cobbled shopping streets.

Morlaix and St Pol de Leon both have a wide range of shops and are about 10 minutes drive away.

Exploring Brittany

There is plenty to keep a family busy in the town but for those who want to explore Brittany the house is a perfect base.
